everyday love

In my art, I often explore ways in which knowing and tending to my pain and wounds is an act of care. In this series, I wanted to explore the inverse of that: the ways in which knowing and tending to my love is an act of care.
While love may originate from the self, in its truest form, it always spills out and over and touches everyone around it. Because of this, there is no self-made anything; we are all deeply connected and supported by and through each other.
Inspired by this imagery, I painted all the pieces in this series in one batch, placing each canvas alongside the others in a large grid formation. This allowed brushstrokes and splatters to spill from one canvas to the next.
Drawing from the colors of the high desert where I was living in at the time, I painted in response to the question: what does it feel like in my body as I experience love in my day to day?
