a rose-soaked afternoon (coaxing my problems into perspective)
for as long as I lived in Nashville (13 years), I was a stan of Frist Art Museum. I took friends and loved one on dates there, or even more often, I went alone with a sketchbook or journal to sit and savor.
The Frist was like a church to me. A special place to go and experience awe, to sit with discomfort and questions, to revel in mystery and delight.
The title of the piece and its subject matter references Will Ryman’s sculpture Rose on 65th Street.
